The BDL is nearing yet another historic landmark in its short history. During the entirety of last year, a total of 183 students participated in BDL tournaments. For the 2010-2011 season, the League set out to shatter that record. Consider it shattered. This year, a whopping 289 students have competed in at least one tournament, with the sixth and final tournament still remaining! Attendance at a tournament is no small feat—participants spend at least twelve (and often fifteen or more) hours engaging in rigorous intellectual exchanges when most of their peers have retired for the weekend. The BDL has come a long way in just a few years — two years ago we had less than 100 total students for the entire year. With continued support from Boston Public Schools and the Boston community, the BDL will surely continue its track record of success in the coming years.
