The BDL Tops 200 Students for the First Time

Another tournament…another record. Over 200 BPS students competed at two different sites across the city this weekend. Last year- our largest single weekend tournament attendance was 111 students.

First up was the English High School tournament site. East Boston was the overall champion, with Urban Science Academy finishing second. In the Varsity division, Justin Mei and Lily Mei from Josiah Quincy were the champions, defeating Logan Young and Maria Rodriguez from East Boston. Doris Diaz from Westie was the top speaker. In the Novice division, English High School dominated- They “closed out” the final round, which happens when two two-person teams from the same school reach the finals. Those students were Marcel Murray & Aisha Barry, and Robert Winston & Ali Mabry. English also had the top four speakers, with Aisha Barry taking home the top gavel. Click here for the full results.
