The 2011-2012 school year has been our most successful year yet for the BDL and we couldn’t have done it without the generosity of supporters like you!
2011 Highlights and Milestones:
We Expanded!
Over 100 middle school students will debate this year in our first-ever middle school division.
We Doubled!
Over 500 students have participated in a debate tournament this year, more than double last year’s involvement at this time.
We Trained!
Hundreds of teachers, reaching thousands of students, have been trained in our Evidence-Based Argumentation program to use debate techniques to make their classrooms more engaging and rigorous.
We Grew!
This past year our team grew from 3 to 7, as we hired full-time staff to fulfill our rapid expansion needs.
We Celebrated!
This past November, we hosted our inaugural fall event, Taking Sides for Success.
We are on a roll, but we are not done. Our goal next semester is to help BPS debate teams add 200 new students to their squads. Help us reach our goal of raising $50,000 to support those students and provide them with the life-changing opportunity of debate.
