BPS Students Take Top Honors at the Second Greater Boston Policy Debate League Tournament

Fourteen students from 7 schools in the Boston Debate League traveled to Weston HS this past weekend to compete in the second-ever Greater Boston Debate League tournament. They squared off against twenty students from other schools in the region, including teams from Weston HS, Needham HS, and the Commonwealth School. Despite an early bus pickup time and stiff competition, the BDL debaters performed admirably, taking the top 4 team awards (including the only undefeated record) and three of the top five speaker awards. Though Boston teams finished on top, all competitors debated hard and showed considerable improvement from earlier tournaments in the year. We would like to thank our gracious hosts at Weston HS for holding such a well-run tournament, and look forward to hosting the next GBDL tournament in January at Josiah Quincy Upper School.
